Description (English)
The competent authority may recover the costs of preventive or remedial actions it has taken from the company that caused the damage or imminent threat, including through security over property or other appropriate guarantees. Cost-recovery proceedings may be initiated within five years from completion of the measures or identification of the liable company, whichever is later.

Die zuständige Behörde kann die Kosten der von ihr ergriffenen Präventions- oder Sanierungsmaßnahmen vom verursachenden Unternehmen zurückfordern, gegebenenfalls durch eine Sicherheit an einem Grundstück oder andere geeignete Garantien. Die Kostenrückforderung kann innerhalb von fünf Jahren nach Abschluss der Maßnahmen oder der Identifizierung des haftbaren Unternehmens eingeleitet werden, je nachdem, welcher Zeitpunkt später liegt.
