Establishes a binding framework for the gradual reduction of anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions and the enhancement of removals by sinks. It sets the objectives of EU climate neutrality by 2050 and a net greenhouse gas emissions reduction of at least 55% by 2030 compared with 1990, and provides for climate adaptation, scientific advice, progress assessments and sectoral roadmaps.
